I’m white. Can I attend your events?

Historically, black filmmakers have been marginalized in the industry and our mission is to facilitate an environment for us to thrive and obtain access in a safe space.While we don't intend to discriminate against anybody, we encourage you to be mindful of the fact that this organization was created for people of African descent.


I’m a person of color, but I'm not black. Can I attend your events?

We do understand that other races have had challenges breaking into the industry and we don't intend to discriminate against anybody, but we encourage you to be mindful of the fact that this organization was created for people of African descent.


 I’m not black, but I want to support your mission. What can I do?

Donate, spread the word to your black colleagues, or share resources with us.If you're interested in supporting in any other way that was not listed, feel free to e-mail info@blackfilmspace.com.

I'm new to filmmaking.  Can I attend one of your events?

Sure, we welcome all experience levels.


Can I send you my film/project to watch?

Unfortunately, due to the amount of requests we receive, we can not watch unsolicited films. However, we host screenings that are designed to showcase films to our community.
