WHAT WE DO
Black Film Space's programming is centered around three core pillars: Education, Community Building, and Pipeline Initiatives.
Together, these efforts help filmmakers develop their craft, build meaningful connections, and access opportunities that advance their careers.
BFS Weekend
Black Film Space’s annual conference and community gathering, bringing together filmmakers for networking, professional development, screenings, and industry conversations.
Fiscal Sponsorship
Helps filmmakers raise funds for their projects through our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The program provides filmmakers with access to charitable funding opportunities, allowing them to secure resources needed to develop, produce, and complete their work.
Education
Providing practical knowledge through panels, workshops, courses, and professional development programs that help filmmakers strengthen their craft and advance their creative goals.
Community
Building meaningful connections both online and in person, helping filmmakers build relationships, find collaborators, and strengthen their support networks.
Mentorship Program
Black Film Space’s Mentorship Program pairs filmmakers with industry professionals who provide guidance, support, and insight into navigating the film and television industry. The program helps participants build confidence, develop their careers, and expand their professional networks.

Connects filmmakers with employment opportunities across film, television, media, and related creative industries.
